Most costly panel-order problems are avoidable before the first cut. If you are ordering cabinetry parts in MDF, MFC or plywood, this checklist helps you send a cleaner list and get a faster, more accurate quote.
1) Mixing units
Keep everything in millimetres. "600 x 300" is only useful if both parties know the same unit. We machine from mm data, so mixed units create avoidable rework.
2) Missing quantities
Do not rely on repeated lines. Add quantity for every size, even when obvious to you. It prevents under-cut batches and second trips.
3) No grain direction notes
For decorative faces, state grain direction on doors and visible panels. Orientation mistakes are one of the main causes of remakes in MFC kitchens.
4) Edging not specified per edge
Say exactly which edges need banding (e.g. 1 long + 1 short). If you need us to do both processes, use cut and edge panels.
5) Wrong material naming
"White board" is not enough. Include thickness + material + brand/colour when known (for example, Egger code). See our sheet materials supply page for common options.
6) Not allowing for fitting clearances
Walls are rarely perfect. Final fit tolerances should be part of your list planning, especially for fillers, end panels and tight alcoves.
7) No delivery/collection timing
Tell us your target collection date at quote stage so we can align workshop capacity and avoid schedule risk.
